Senior Project Architect 

Award-winning architecture firm known for its exceptional design achievements and commitment to sustainable practices is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join their Phoenix office. Our firm’s rich portfolio spans diverse sectors including Commercial, Higher Education, Historic Preservation, and Public/Civic projects.

Position Summary: As a Senior Project Architect, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing architectural projects from concept through completion. Your expertise will be instrumental in upholding our firm’s reputation for design excellence and sustainable innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of architectural projects across various sectors including Commercial, Higher Education, Historic Preservation, and Public/Civic.
  • Manage project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver creative design solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.
  • Maintain a strong emphasis on sustainable design practices, integrating environmentally responsible solutions into project designs.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, codes, and regulations relevant to architectural design and construction.

Qualifications:

  • Professionally accredited degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • Professional license in Architecture (NCARB or NCEES certification preferred).
  • LEED Green Associate Accreditation or LEED AP preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural practice, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across multiple project types.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing architectural projects, including client interaction and team coordination.
  • Knowledge and experience in educational facility design preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong design sensibility and ability to translate conceptual ideas into architectural solutions.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively.
